How to Make Delicious Beef Biryani

Ingredients Required
- 500g beef, cut into medium-sized pieces
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

- 3-4 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup mint leaves
- Whole spices: 4 cloves, 3 cardamoms, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp biryani masala powder
- Salt, as needed
- 4 tbsp oil or ghee
- Water, as required
Preparation Steps
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- Clean and marinate the beef with yogurt, turmeric, chili powder, biryani masala, and salt. Set aside for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a large pan, fry sliced onions until golden brown, and set aside half for garnishing.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, mint, and coriander leaves. Cook until tomatoes soften.
- Add marinated beef and cook until the meat is tender, adding water if necessary.
Cooking Process
- In a separate pot, boil water with salt and whole spices. Add soaked rice and cook until 70% done. Drain the rice.
- Layer the partially cooked rice over the beef masala.
- Top with fried onions, mint, and coriander leaves.
- Cover tightly and cook on low heat (dum) for 20–25 minutes.
